I'm an artist, author and lifelong creative explorer.

What materials do you need?
You don't need anything special to get started, and you don't need it all before your first sketch. A sketchbook and a pencil is genuinely enough to begin.
As you settle into Inspire, it helps to have a small range of basic materials to hand:
- A sketchbook or two, in whatever size feels right for you.
- Pencils, a sharpener, and an eraser.
- Watercolours or coloured pencils, for when you want to add colour.
- A few pens, for line work.
I never specify brands, and I won't start now. My philosophy has always been to use what you already have. If a tutorial calls for something specific, I'll always suggest an alternative, so the wrong materials should never be the reason you don't sketch.
